Community Advisory Panel
As part of a DuPont initiative to communicate more directly with local citizens, a Community Advisory Panel (CAP) was formed at the Antioch Works plant in 1992 and has remained active except for a brief period between plant closure and 2001. CAP members represent diverse stakeholder interests including community residents, development professionals, government officials, and environmental representatives. They are spokespersons for and to the stakeholders they represent. The current eight-member panel meets two or more times a year at the Oakley Site for an exchange of information about remediation progress and redevelopment plans. CAP members are briefed by DuPont personnel on site status and issues, after which they ask questions and raise issues that stem from their own and their neighbors’ experiences and concerns. This information helps DuPont constructively take the public interest into account.
Meetings are open to the public. Please contact Bob Deaver at (925) 757-5836 if you would like to attend the next CAP meeting.
